New Jersey's Agriculture Secretary is in Hunterdon County to break some bread and help a program for the homeless.
Agriculture Secretary Doug Fisher is in Flemington.
He's announcing $200,000 in grant money for the local Family Promise office and he brought a meal to share.
New Jersey is restarting its Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehousing program next year.
It ran from 2009 through last year.
Flemington's Family Promise office helped some 200 households through that program.
"It was extraordinarily successful in helping people, preventing them from becoming homeless and it could have been anything from security deposits to rent payments to fuel assistance," said Fisher. "All those kinds of things that can really tip someone into a homelessness situation."
Family Promise in Flemington is part of the Interfaith Hospitality Network, a network of churches that provides housing and meals for the homeless.
