The feds have new rules that require power plants to cut back on air pollution that crosses state lines.
The Environmental Protection Agency has finalized new rules that affect 27 states, including Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Environmentalists in New Jersey welcome the crack down.
The president of the state Sierra Club says the Portland Generating Station in Northampton County, Pennsylvania is the single-biggest cause of air pollution in northwestern New Jersey.
The new rules require power plants to dramatically cut emissions that cause smog, acid rain, and various health problems.
