Officials: Deadly fire was accidental

EAST COCALICO TWP., Pa. -

We now know what sparked the fire that killed three people in Lancaster County.

Officials say an incorrectly used extension cord caused Sunday's house fire in East Cocalico Township.

Officials say Melvin Rissler, 83, his wife Patti, 54, and their daughter Rachel, 24, died of smoke inhalation and thermal injuries.

The couple's 17-year-old daughter escaped by jumping from a second-floor window.
