PPL pushing its route for power line
PPL is defending its choice for the route of an embattled power line proposal.
PPL and New Jersey utility PSE&G have released a statement on the Susquehanna-Roseland line.
The utilities say alternative power line routes proposed by the National Park Service would require cutting new paths through the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.
The utilities' route follows an existing line through the park and they say building the new line there is the least invasive option.
The utilities are also talking more about their plan to purchase land for the park to offset the impact of the project.
It's part of a $30million-$40 million proposal that also establishes an endowment for the park and other outdoors organizations.
