PPL starts work on embattled power line

Work has started on a PPL power line that's a source of controversy in one Bucks County community.

Soil testing has started for a seven mile line from southern Lehigh County to northern Bucks County.

The line runs through Springfield Township and the township has filed a petition to appeal its case to the state Supreme Court.

The township says the state Commonwealth court and the state public utility commission were wrong to approve the line.

The state Supreme court has yet to issue a ruling so work will move forward.
