For the first time in six months Pennsylvania's jobless rate has dipped downward.
The state Department of Labor and Industry says the unemployment rate dropped to 8.1 percent in October, down from 8.2.
It says both overall employment and the number of people working or seeking work grew.
The department also estimates that payrolls increased by nearly 7,500 jobs last month.
