A local state lawmaker who was charged with driving drunk has been accepted into a first-time offenders program.
At a hearing Wednesday, Pa. Rep. Joe Brennan was approved for Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition, also known as ARD.
Brennan was arrested for DUI near his office in south Bethlehem in June. He later admitted to driving drunk and said he has long-struggled with alcoholism.
If Brennan completes the ARD program, the DUI will be erased from his record.
