Pa. officials issue warning on fentanyl, acetyl fentanyl
It looks like heroin but it isn't.
Now state officials are warning about the deadly effects of fentanyl and acetyl fentanyl.
Officials say recreational use of the drugs has caused 50 deaths in Pennsylvania this year.
The drug use has also led to overdoses in 15 counties including Berks and Lehigh.
Fentanyl is used to relieve severe or chronic pain.
Officials say acetyl fentanyl often has the same color and packaging as heroin and it's often mistaken for heroin.
If someone takes too much of either drug, they're at risk for a deadly overdose.
