Person flown to the hospital after crash

NESQUEHONING, Pa. -

Rescue crews in Carbon County had to cut someone out of a nasty wreck Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened around 3:30 on Route 54 in Nesquehoning.

Officials say a vehicle lost control and then hit a utility pole and some trees.

It took crews a little while before they could get the driver out of the car.

That person was flown to the hospital. There's no word on his or her condition.

Route 54 is now open after being closed for about three hours after the crash.
