It appears a flag flap in Phillipsburg that gained national attention has been resolved.

The Phillipsburg Housing Authority is addressing the actions of resident Dawn Paulus.

The 75-year-old wanted to hang an American flag from her balcony but tenants aren't allowed to hang anything from their balconies.

Now the housing authority says it'll make flag holders available if residents request them.

Housing Authority Executive Director Paul Rummerfeld says this issue was never about the American flag.

He also says Dawn was never told she couldn't display a flag.
