Dorney Park is celebrating the opening of a new home for Snoopy and the "Peanuts" gang.

Park officials and some hearty kids braved the rain Wednesday as Snoopy and Charlie Brown officially opened "Planet Snoopy."

Crews have turned the old "Camp Snoopy" into something new over the last few months.

There are more rides and new eats. And, for park officials, it's a great feeling.

"This looks stupendous," said Brad Nesland. vice president of park maintenance and construction. "I'm so proud of what they did and the time frame that we did it in. We brought it in on budget. We brought it in on time. It looks great. We're really proud of what we've got out here."

Dorney said it invested about $8 million in the new "Planet Snoopy."
