An armed robbery and a chase ended in gunfire Friday in Allentown.

Police were called to a market in the 700 block of South 5th Street around 8:50am.

Police say a man with a handgun drove off after committing a robbery.

Police later found a car matching the description of the getaway car on the American Parkway.

Police gave chase and the pursuit ended when the car got stuck on railroad tracks on Allen Street.

Police say the driver, who was still armed, didn't listen to officers when he got out of the car.

Police fired one shot but didn't hit anyone.

The driver was then arrested.
