Police issue warning about Cyber Monday scams
While consumers are looking for the best deals online police say scammers are also hard at work.
They say shoppers need to be on the lookout for scams all holiday season long.
Experts say if a deal seems too good to be true chances are it is.
Another thing to watch out for is fake websites.
Officials say if you receive an unsolicited email that has a link to a retailer's website do not open it.
"If you're going to go a Walmart site, look up Walmart on the Internet and go to it on your own. Don't go to a site that's generated in the email," said Stroud Area Regional Police Chief William Parrish.
Officials also say you should use your credit card instead of a debit card and be sure to check your statements.
