County officials plan to have a public meeting Thursday morning ahead of next month's crime summit.
The goal is to come up with an agenda for the crime summit on January 18.
Federal, state and local officials are expected to come together to discuss ways to combat crime and violence in Reading.
So far this year, police said there have been 18 homicides in the city, and that's not including car crashes.
Thursday's meeting will begin at 8:30 in the commissioner's boardroom.
