The Monroe County Drug Task Force arrested 25 people on various drug charges Friday, officials said.  The arrests came as part of a saturation partrol conducted by the task force.

Task force members said the operation focused on the areas of Middle Smithfield Township, Smithfield Township, and East Stroudsburg borough.

Officials served open arrest warrants, conducted surveillance on known drug "hot spots," did uniformed interdiction, and made contact with people on parole or probation.

Officials said the sweep resulted in arrests on various charges such as possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, DUI and more.

Officials said several illegal drugs and prescription medications were also seized as part of the sweep.
