Brush fire snarls traffic
Skiers who were leaving Blue Mountain ski area had quite a traffic jam to deal with Sunday after firefighters responded to a brush fire.
The fire broke out around 4:30 Sunday afternoon on Blue Mountain Drive directly across from the entrance to the ski lodge in Palmerton, Carbon Co.
Fire officials say between 5 and 10 acres burned, and the traffic on Blue Mountain Drive was at a standstill.
No injuries were reported.
Smoke was visible for miles.
