Police: Snowy footprints led to stolen copper wire
Fresh snow turned out to be quite helpful for finding a burglary suspect.
Pocono Mountain Regional Police said footprints in fresh snow helped Stillwater Lakes security officers to follow footprints into a home at 403 Hummingbird Dr., Tobyhanna Twp.,
Monroe Co.
It happened around 4 a.m. Saturday in Stillwater Lake Estates.
Officers found copper electrical wire at the end of the driveway, so they called police.
Police found Joshua E. Smith at the Hummingbird address, plus a tool used in the burglary and drug paraphernalia.
Smith was arrested and charged with burglary, theft, criminal trespass, possessing instruments of a crime and possessing drug paraphernalia.
