Police: Teens nabbed after chase may know about recent robberies
McAdoo armed robbery
Police are holding two 18-year-old men who they think may be able to help them solve a recent rash of market robberies.
Tamaqua police arrested Jose Nunez of Hazleton, and Tysheed Hargrove, currently homeless, after a high speed chase Sunday night.
When officers tried to pull over a black Mustang, the occupants led officers on a high-speed chase on Route 209 through Coaldale and Nesquehoning, said police, who noted that the car rammed a patrol car during the pursuit.
Nunez was identified as the driver; Hargrove was a passenger.
Inside the car, police said they found a black handgun, which had been reported stolen.
The two men were arrested on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude officers, receiving stolen property, carrying a firearm without a license and additional related charges.
Police said they are looking into whether the two had anything to do with seven hold-ups in Schuylkill and Carbon counties over the last two weeks.
Both area being held on $100,000 bail.
