Brian Rich, president of Reading Anthracite has thrown his hat into the ring to run for state Senate in the 29th district.
Another candidate has thrown his hat into the ring for state Senator in the 29th district.
Reading Anthracite president Brian Rich announced his candidacy on Thursday.
He said he intends to bring private-sector leadership and job-creation experience to the state Senate.
“There are too many career politicians in Harrisburg with no fiscal discipline and no understanding of how to create jobs,” Rich said. “Unfortunately, a number of them are experts at spending money, raising taxes, and furthering their own interests. We need leadership in Harrisburg to turn Pennsylvania around.”
Born and raised in Schuylkill County, Rich has worked in the family business since graduating from college.
In his 29 years in business, Rich says he has helped created 450 jobs in Schuylkill County and his family business employs more than 620 people.
