Robber hits Redner's grocery store
Another armed robbery in poconos
Police are investigating the fifth armed robbery in the region in the past week.
The holdup happened around 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Redner's Warehouse Market on Route 209 in Nesquehoning, Carbon Co.
A man walked into the store, grabbed a basket, got a pack of crackers, and entered a checkout lane, police said. Once at the register, he displayed a knife and told the clerk to put money in a bag, police said.
The clerk complied and the man fled on foot, police said.
The robber is described as a white man wearing a black and white or gray and white plaid shirt, black sweats, white sneakers and a white hat with markings on it.
Police said they are not sure if the robbery is connected to any other recent robberies in the area.
Police are already looking into robberies at a Turkey Hill in Nesquehoning and a Wawa in Kidder Township. Two Fegley's locations in Schuylkill County have also been robbed.
