Two former officers head to trial
A lawsuit accusing two former Schuylkill County police officers of causing the death of a prison inmate is heading to trial.
Former Shenandoah Police Chief Matthew Nestor and Captain Jamie Gennarini are accused of killing David Vega in 2004.
Vega's family filed suit, saying the officers made it look like a suicide.
A judge in the case refused to give a summary judgement in the case and said the matter must be decided by a jury.
The two former officers are also accused of covering up the deadly beating of 24-year-old Luis Ramirez in 2008.
