Police in Carbon County say a 12 year-old boy is dead after an all-terrain vehicle accident.

It happened Saturday afternoon at Strohl's Valley and Spruce Hollow roads in Towamensing Township.

Officials say the boy was a passenger on an ATV driven by a family member.

They say the ATV crashed on a wooded trail, and the boy died at the scene from his injuries.
