3rd Reading man pleads guilty in robbery of bank in Schuylkill Co.
A third man has admitted to his role in robbing a bank and leading police on a high-speed chase.
Orlando Luis Velez Jr. pleaded guilty before a federal judge in Scranton. Velez, 24, of Reading, now faces up to 25 years in prison, five years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.
Velez and two other men -- Quamaine Irvin Smith-Tisdale and Justin Allen Smith -- robbed the Union Bank and Trust on Route 61 in West Brunswick Twp., Schuylkill Co., on Apr. 18, 2011. They were apprehended after leading state police on a high-speed chase, the FBI said.
Smith-Tisdale, 23, and Smith, 21, also both of Reading, pleaded guilty to federal charges last week and were handed the same sentence as Velez.
