For a limited time, you can buy discount passes to Camelbeach through a special online promotion, and 50 percent of your purchase will be donated to the United Way of Monroe County.

By using promo code UNITED12 when buying tickets at the Camelbeach website,, tickets are available for only $26 per admission.

“We hope many people will decide to slide, spin and splash for United Way,” said 2012 Campaign Chair Joseph “Trip” Ruvane III, president of Barley Creek Brewing Company. “The money raised will go towards our 33 programs that help people in need, from children to seniors. We thank Camelbeach for providing this opportunity.”

Camelbeach is offering another way to help the United Way this summer with its 'Big Give" fundraiser.

As part of this program, a “quacky” duck race will be held on Aug. 18, along Camelbeach’s Blue Nile Adventure River.

People can adopt a duck for $10 to compete in the afternoon race and proceeds will benefit the United Way.

You can buy a duck that day or beforehand at the United Way's website. Prizes will be awarded for the top three winning ducks (winners don’t need to be present).
