One man is dead after crashing his pickup truck in Carbon County early Saturday morning.
The crash occurred around 2 a.m. on Route 93 South in Packer Township, leaving the road closed for several hours. Crews on the scene believe a severe rain storm may have caused the victim to lose control of his pickup truck. The truck crossed Route 93 and struck an embankment on the far left side of the road before traveling back to the right side where it hit another embankment. Reports indicate that the victim was partially ejected from the vehicle. A Carbon County Deputy Coroner pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The victim's name has not yet been released, and state police in Hazleton are still investigating the accident.
