Police in Carbon County are investigating a two-vehicle accident that sent one onto a railroad bed below.

The accident happened around 7 a.m. Thursday on Route 209 near the Route 903 bridge in Jim Thorpe.

Officials said one of the vehicles went onto a sidewalk and then crashed through a steel fence after the collision.

One driver was taken by ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.

There's no word on the driver's condition.
