83-yr-old man dies of injuries from Carbon County car crash

MAHONING TWP., Pa. -

An elderly man has died of injuries he sustained in a car crash last week.

Police said 83-year-old William Graver of Lehighton died Monday.

The accident happened Friday when Graver pulled out of a parking lot on Route 443 in Mahoning Twp. in front of a car driven by 28-year-old Rebecca Boyer of Tamaqua police said.

Graver was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest in Lehigh County, where he died as a result of his injuries.

A passenger in his car, Perma Graver also of Lehighton, and Boyer were also taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital.

There's no word on their conditions.

Police said none of them were wearing seatbelts, and Boyer's car's airbag failed to deploy.

Route 443 was closed for about 45 minutes Friday as crews cleaned up the area.
