Russell Young charged with arson in 2nd fire at sister's home

LEHIGHTON, Pa. -

Fire crews in Carbon County had their hands full Wednesday with two fires within minutes of each other.

The first was reported around 7:15 a.m. at 229 Carbon St. in Lehighton; the second was a few blocks away at 357 N. 3rd St.

Russell Young has been charged with arson and related charges in connection with the 3rd Street fire, which is where Young's sister lives, officials said.

Young, 44, of 231 Carbon St., Lehighton, was committed to the Carbon County Prison on $200,000 bail.

Police have not said if the fires are connected.
