TOBYHANNA TWP., Pa. -

The state department of environmental protection is investigating contaminated well water in Monroe County.

The DEP says it appears there is some kind of petroleum product in the well water of at least one home in the Emerald Lakes community in Tobyhanna Township.

DEP officials first learned about the issue two weeks ago.

They're still trying to determine the source of the petroleum product.

Testing is now underway on water samples.

Results are expected in a couple of weeks.
