A 20-year-old New York man was arrested early Saturday morning for allegedly intending to distribute heroin, ecstasy and powder cocaine with a street value of more than $8,000, according to Pocono Mountain Regional Police.
Renier Gil was arrested shortly after midnight, following a motor vehicle stop for a traffic violation on Route 940.
Further investigation led police to conduct a search of the vehicle. A narcotics K9 located a duffle bag on the passenger floor.
The bag was found to have a large amount of bulk narcotics including 100 bags of heroin, 150 ecstacy pills and powder cocaine, police said.
The narcotics were packaged and wrapped in fabric softener in an attempt to conceal the odor, according to police.
Gil was charged with possession with intent to deliver and other drug related charges.
