SCHUYLKILL TWP., Pa. -

Police are looking into a pair of armed robberies they said were committed by the same man early Friday.

The first holdup happened around 2:30 a.m. at the Turkey Hill at Routes 54 and 309 in Rush Twp, Schuylkill Co.

The robber then hit an Exxon/Uni-Mart convenience store on Altamont Boulevard in West Mahanoy Twp., Schuylkill Co., less than an hour later, police said.

The man entered the front door brandishing a black handgun, demanded money from the clerk and left with cash, police said.

Police described the robber as a dark-skinned man, approximately 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing a red ski mask and a black North Face jacket zipped up to the chin.

Police from Carbon and Schuylkill counties responded to both scenes.

Five other robberies have been committed in the region in the past two weeks.
