Police catch 3 for Lehighton Walmart shoplifting after chase into Lehigh County

LEHIGHTON, Pa. -

Carbon County authorities have captured three people they say tried to steal a shopping cart full of electronics from the Lehighton Walmart on Route 443.

The incident started around 4:30 a.m. Monday and the three apparently shot a paintball gun, but no paint shells or paint were found.

The three robbers led police on a short chase into Lehigh County.

Police took two men and a woman into custody in Laurys Station around 5:15 a.m.

There's no word on their identities.
