Police search for Schuylkill County hit-and-run suspect

GIRARDVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. -

State police are searching for the suspect of a Saturday night hit-and-run crash in Schuylkill County.

The crash occurred around 9:25 p.m. in the 100 block of West Main Street when an unknown white male operating a 2002 maroon Hyundai Elantra at a high rate of speed swerved out of his lane and struck a parked car unoccupied on the shoulder of the roadway, according to police.

The operator of the Hyundai exited the vehicle and fled on foot traveling south. His vehicle sustained heavy front end damage. The parked vehicle received minor passenger side damage.

Witnesses describe the driver as a white male wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.
