State police arrest Eric Montanari Sr. in connection with stabbing in Weissport

WEISSPORT, Pa. -

One person was hospitalized Monday night after being stabbed, state police said.

Police responded to 401 Bridge St. in Weissport, Carbon Co., just before 8 p.m. for reports of a stabbing.

Police said Eric Montanari Sr., 36, stabbed 23-year-old Joseph Muse, both of Weissport, multiple times.

Muse was treated at Lehigh Valley Hospital near Allentown, said officials, who had no information about the extent of his injuries.

Montanari was charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

Bail was set at $400,000. Montanari is currently at the Carbon County Correctional Facility.
