Driver suffers only minor injury; roadway reopens several hours later

SNYDERSVILLE, Pa. -

A tractor trailer accident closed the southbound lanes of Route 33 in Monroe County for more than 10 hours Wednesday morning.

The accident happened around 12:15 a.m., just north of the Snydersville exit in Hamilton Twp., near mile marker 26.6.

Police say a tractor trailer rolled over, trapping the driver inside and dumping gallons of fuel and cargo over the highway.

The driver, 42-year-old Rakeshkumar Dholakia of Bartlett,Illinois, was freed from the cab by Pocono Twp. and Blue Ridge fire departments. He suffered a minor hand injury.

All southbound lanes reopened around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
