WEST BRUNSWICK TWP., Pa. -

One person is in critical condition after an accident involving a motorcycle in Schuylkill County.

It happened around 12:40 a.m. Thursday on Route 61 between Coal Mountain Road and Laurel Drive in West Brunswick Township.

Police say Christopher Evans of Orwigsburg was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital after he lost control of his bike in a construction zone.

According to police, Evans slid around 165 feet before coming to rest on the side of Route 61, and his bike traveled an additional 1,030 feet before stopping at the intersection of Route 61 and Laurel Drive.

The accident is under investigation.
