SMITHFIELD TWP., Pa. -

A Monroe County man was killed when his car hit several trees Tuesday night.

State police said 47-year-old Thomas Frame of East Stroudsburg was driving on Marshalls Creek Road in Smithfield Twp. around 11 p.m. when the car traveled off the right side of the road and hit multiple trees.

Frame was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Monroe County coroner's office said Frame died of multiple blunt force trauma, and the death was ruled accidental.

The coroner said Frame was not wearing a seat belt.

State police at Swiftwater will perform an investigation.
