Fire devours home in East Penn Township, Carbon County

EAST PENN TWP., Pa. -

A fast-moving fire devoured a Carbon County home early Saturday morning.

The fire in East Penn Township fire left a family homeless, according to crews at the scene.

Firefighters were called to 140 Tiffany Lane in the North Side Heights development just after 8 a.m.

When fire crews arrived on scene, they found the dwelling fully involved in flames. Fire companies from throughout Carbon county responded to the scene.

The couple, a male, 47, and a female, 37, managed to escape the flames, according to crews at the scene.

Fire officials have requested a state police fire marshal to the scene, as well as the American Red Cross, to care for the victims.
