WEST PENN TWP., Pa. -

A wild police chase in Schuylkill County has ended with the arrest of a burglary suspect.

It happened around 2 p.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of Spring Road in West Penn Township, police said.

The homeowner came home to find her front door broken into, police said.  She then saw Matthew Desrochers leaving the residence with a box of her jewelry.

Desrochers then led police on a high-speed chase on Route 209 for about 10 miles, police said. He finally stopped after running over spike strips set by police.

They found several jewelry boxes believed to have been taken during the burglary, police said.

Desrochers faces charges of burglary, theft and reckless endangerment.
