A new president has been named at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Hazleton (LVH-Hazleton).
John Fletcher, who had been serving as interim president since January, has officially been announced as the president of the hospital Friday, according to a release issued by Lehigh Valley Health Network.
“These are exciting times for health care in Hazleton,” Fletcher said. “I’m very pleased Lehigh Valley Health Network has the confidence in me to move health care forward in our community.”
Fletcher replaced Jim Edwards, who resigned his role at the beginning of this year.
Edwards was the president and CEO of the former Greater Hazleton Health Alliance (GHHA) and Fletcher had been the chief operating officer with GHHA since 2004.
GHHA joined the Lehigh Valley Health Network in January of this past year.
“John brings strategic and operational experiences to the role of president,” said Terry Capuano, chief operating officer, Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN). “He has demonstrated a deep commitment to LVH-Hazleton and to the greater Hazleton area. His vision is one of growth and access to quality care for the community.”
