SMITHFIELD TWP., Pa. -

An unidentified male's leisurely afternoon at a hotel pool turned deadly Wednesday in Monroe County.

Just before 4 p.m., State Police responded to a report of a drowning at the swimming pool at the Days Inn Hotel at 838 Seven Bridges Road in Smithfield Township.

According to police, the male was in the pool with family members when he decided to swim out to deeper water.
