MIDDLE SMITHFIELD TWP., Pa. -

A 60-year-old man died after a deer crashed through his car window in Middle Smithfield Township, Monroe County.

Police say it happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday when the deer crashed through the window of a car traveling on Milford Road near Maple Lane. Police say the deer's antlers hits the driver in the face, causing lacerations.

The vehicle continued on the road for another quarter-mile before crashing into a tree.

Police say the driver's wife was performing CPR on her husband when they arrived. The driver was pronounced dead while being transported to the hospital.

Police are not releasing the names of the driver and his wife.

The investigation continues. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call State Police in Swiftwater at 570-839-7701.
