POTTSVILLE, Pa. -

Some Schuylkill County residents lost their 911 emergency phone service for a few hours Monday morning.

Impacted were Verizon customers in the 345 phone exchange, including the borough of Pine Grove and Pine Grove Township.

By 1:30 p.m., John Blickley, a deputy coordinator at the county's emergency management agency, announced: "Residents in the 345 Phone Exchange in Pine Grove Borough and Pine Grove Township can once again Dial 911 for emergencies. Service has been restored by Verizon."

Blickley was not sure how many customers are affected.
