EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. -

Police in the Poconos are investigating a burglary spree.

Stroud Area Regional Police say that on early Friday morning three occupied homes were broken into, along with two attempted break-ins, on Spangenburg Avenue, Marguerite Street and Stemple Street in East Stroudsburg.

Police say all the entries were made by cutting window screens and using nearby outdoor furniture to step up into the windows.

No residents were harmed. All of the residents discovered the break-ins or attempted break-ins when they awoke in the morning.

Stolen were cash, purses, a laptop, cell phone and an Ipad.

Police say patrols have been increased in the area. Residents are asked to be alert and to call the police if they see or hear anything suspicious.
