Police: Poconos woman fires shots at husband, charged with attempted homicide
A Poconos woman has been charged with attempted homicide for allegedly firing shots at her husband during a domestic dispute at their Monroe County home.
Stroud Area Regional Police say they responded to a report of shots fired around 8:40 p.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of Streamside Road in Stroud Towsnhip.
Police say 53-year-old Janine Decker and her husband became embroiled in an argument inside the residence. During the verbal dispute, Decker fired one shot from a .380 caliber semi-automatic revolver from the bedroom into the living room area were her husband was located, according to police.
Police say Decker’s husband fled to the driveway area. Decker followed and again fired a shot in the direction of her husband, according to police. The second bullet shattered a car window, spraying her husband with shards of glass.
The husband was not injured.
Decker was taken into custody and is scheduled to be arraigned Sunday morning.
Charges against Decker include: attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
