Police want public's help to find bank robber

Armed man riding a mountain bike robbed bank in Carbon County

PENN FOREST TOWNSHIP, Pa. -

Pennsylvania State police are asking for the public's help to arrest a man who robbed a Carbon County bank last month and escaped by riding away on a mountain bike.

The suspect entered Jim Thorpe National Bank on Route 903 in Penn Forest Township about 1 p.m.  Sept. 17. He pointed a small handgun at two female tellers and demanded cash.

After getting the money, he left the bank and was last seen riding a "small mountain type bicycle" south on Route 903.

Police identify the suspect as a thin white male wearing a black mask and black clothing.

Anyone with information, including anyone who may have observed the suspect in the area of the bank, are asked to call state police at the Lehighton station: 610-377-4270.
