COALDALE, Pa. -

An overnight crash that snapped a utility pole has left part of Route 209 closed in Coaldale.

The single-vehicle accident happened just before 2 a.m. Saturday between 2nd and 5th streets.

As of 5:30 a.m. Saturday, the road was still closed while power company crews worked to replace the utility pole.

The crash left part of the borough without power.

Officials say the driver was transported to the hospital.

There is no word yet on the severity of the driver's injuries or if any police charges have been filed.
