St. Luke's Miners Hospital named Level 4 Trauma Center
The quality of care is improving at a Schuylkill County hospital.
St. Luke’s Hospital - Miners Campus in Coaldale has been recognized as a Level four trauma center by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation.
The accreditation usually takes three years to obtain, but the St. Luke's staff was able to complete the process in two years.
According to the PTSF, level four trauma centers are able to provide initial care and stabilization of traumatic injury while arranging transfer to a higher level of trauma care.
St. Luke's Bethlehem campus has been an accredited Level 1 trauma center for the past 15 years.
