Woman accused of forging $11,000 in checks with ex-husband's name
A woman in Carbon County is accused of forging more than $11,000 in checks with her ex-husband's name.
Mahoning Township police say Joanna Sue Nunemacher admitted to signing her ex-husband's name on four checks totaling $11,450 that were deposited into her National Penn Bank account earlier this summer.
Police say she also admitted to knowing there were no funds available for the deposited checks, which caused the bank branch on Route 443 a financial loss of $3,313.
Nunemacher has been charged with forgery, theft by deception and passing bad checks.
