Zasha Sanchez of Tobyhanna charged in stabbing
Police responding to a report of a stabbing found a large amount of blood in a driveway and front deck of a Monroe County home Friday afternoon.
A witness called Pocono Mountain Regional Police to report he saw the stabbing while his neighbors were arguing at their home in Tobyhanna. He said a woman stabbed a man with a knife.
Police found the blood when they responded to the address in the 8000 block of Deerfield Drive shortly after 1 p.m. Friday.
Police attempted to make contact with the people in the home, but no one came to the door. Police were forced to open the door to make contact.
They found the victim, identified as 25-year-old Bernard Shame, hiding in the basement. He had a large stab wound to his right arm and a large cut on the top of his head.
Police then took 25-year-old Zasha Sanchez into custody for the assault, without incident.
Police did not explain the relationship between the two people, why they were arguing or where they found Sanchez.
Sanchez was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.
She is free on $10,000 bail.
